Judgement Handed Down in the case of Kingdom of Spain v Lorenzo [2024]

The Court of Appeal has today (20 December 2024) handed down judgement in the case of Kingdom of Spain v Lorenzo [2024] EWCA Civ 1602, as previously reported on 15 December (here). Matt Jackson, who’s junior was Caitlin Page, represented the claimant.

Whilst Spain appealed the previous judgment, their appeal was dismissed.

The Court of Appeal is now considering whether to grant a declaration of incompatibility for section 4(2)(a) of the State Immunity Act 1978.
